Printed “Miro”

Printed my “Miro” board (“Miro” is a platform for online mood boards, notes, and group/live collaborations). My sketchbooks and notebooks are always physical. I feel more connected to the things I make that I can touch and feel. I struggled to make online sketchbooks however when I discovered “Miro” it gave me the ability to feel the space there. The space that is often confusing, feels endless.

Therefore I decided to print it out, to the scale that I see it. And then the piece becomes a method. Printing photographs on that scale and using different sizes/arrangements, let me choose how people are goingt to perceive the images, and how close they will have to get to them.

Some leaned and some people got down on their hands. Looked very closely, they could feel the texture of the paper.

Touch

Liveness, vulnerability - the sheet being very large makes the viewer step on it, leaving the choice - to make a mark/dirt or not.

Performance

How does artwork become a performance by others?

Dirt

Marks

Value - I realised that I was attracted to the performance as it seems to have a value of time/ how much one can see or will see.

Technology is deeply related to what I make and how I let it do the work. A lot of pieces that I printed were jammed and “edited” by the printer.
I am interested in leaving space for a “chance.”
I show the process from analogue to digital and back to analogue, which wouldn’t be possible without technology. Digital is a tool for me to save the process pieces.

Multiple outcomes, and multiple errors, from digital to physical, while digital gives mechanical visual look from the errors, rain creates organic shapes and rips.
